The best restaurants in Formentera

The best restaurants in Formentera: Es Moli de la Sal
Es Moli de la Sal Restaurant – Telephone 971 18 74 91 – VHF CH 87: It is an old
salt mill It is quite well preserved and its white tower is easily recognizable from
practically any part of the northern area of the island of Formentera. The location is
very picturesque and offers spectacular views of the western area of Cavall beach
d’en Borras.

Nadal likes to eat at Es Moli de la Sal
Although it offers all kinds of dishes, typical Spanish cuisine shines and its specialty is
soupy rice and paellas. They offer a boatman service. The VHF radio channel to call
to the boatman of Es Molì de la Sal is CH 87 or by phone 971 18 74 91 Next to the restaurant
there is a great little beach in case the children want to go down to bathe while the
Seniors enjoy after-dinner. The average price is around 70 to 80 euros per person.
It offers both lunch and dinner.

Juan y Andrea Restaurant – Telephone 971 187 130 – VHF CH 74: Mr. Juan and his wife
Andrea, were the caretakers of the islet of Espalmador. During the 1980s, observing the great
number of boats that anchored in the turquoise waters of the north of Formentera,
decided to establish a fish bar that today has become one of the
most famous restaurants in Formentera, for various reasons. We warn you that your
high prices, is one of those reasons. The restaurant is easily recognizable, to the extreme
south of Illetas beach, by the palm trees that line the tents that offer shade to the
diners.
It is the typical beach bar with very pretty waitresses, and usually
overwork and lack of days off. Offers modern food, sometimes too much
minimalist and very fashion for my taste. Despite everything, they are still tables on the sand
from the beach, you can eat barefoot if you want. It is usually one of the most
demanded to go down to eat by our international clients. The average price is
about 100 euros per person. They have a free boatman service for customers with a reservation.
Juan y Andrea only offers meals and does not open for dinner.

The restaurants of Illetas, Formentera: Beso Beach
Beso Beach Restaurant – 971 324 572 – VHF CH76: Located south of Cavall beach
d’en Borras, very close to the mouth of the port of Formentera, it is very easy to find it by
large white letter B that is installed on the roof. It is one of the most
fashionable lately in Formentera due to the parties that are held at the end of the second shift,
with people dancing on the tables and a lot of lack of control that usually lasts until the night. East
restaurant inherited the crowd that used to frequent the old Big Sur for sunset
(changed name and ownership in 2011 to Beso Beach). Watch the sun go down from the
beach sand with a mojito in hand in front of Beso Beach, it’s priceless!

The restaurants of Ses Illetes: Es Ministre
Es ministre Restaurant – 609 600 538 – VHF CH 75: This is another old beach bar in
beach come to more, although not as chic as its neighbor Juan and Andrea. He has a specialty in
fresh fish and shellfish, which we can choose directly from the fish tank. offers envelope
all traditional Spanish food and is slightly cheaper than restaurants in
around. The average price can be around 50 to 70 euros per person.

Restaurant in Cavall d’en Borras: The shark
El Tiburon Restaurant – 659 638 945 – VHF CH66: This is still the
typical beach bar practically on the edge of the beach, although with restaurant prices. I know
located in the northern area of Cavall d’en Borras, between Es Moli de la Sal and Beso Beach, although with
enough beach between one and another. It is unmistakable because of the shark that they have installed on the
roof.
You can have lunch and dinner like in any other restaurant for about 50-60 euros per person.
The menu is not too varied. It is ideal for snacking and drinking mojitos at sunset.
It doesn’t have many tables and fills up quickly so reservations are essential. The owner
is German, more interested in living life and not complicating his existence by expanding the premises or
making publicity. Many times they don’t even pick up the phone when you call…

One of the first hippy beach bars: Kiosko El Pirata
Kiosko El Pirata – 971 32 40 64: he was one of the hippy beach bars that were installed on the
white sand of the famous Illetas beach in Formentera in the early 1980s.
immediately by the black pirate flag that crowns the mast that emerges between the tents
that provide shade to the dining room. The tables are located on the same sand and their
cocktails are legendary. It only opens for lunch, although it does not close practically until sunset.
Sun. Like the rest of the restaurants, it offers free boatman service for customers.
EL MIRADOR RESTAURANT: (Carretera de la Mola Km 14.3): obligatory stop for
any visitor to the island. From this restaurant you can see the best views of the island and
magical sunsets and always different. You can even see the island of Es Vedrá, in
Ibiza. During that time it is the rush hour of this restaurant that offers succulent dishes
between the traditional and the creative at a price without scams or paraphernalia. The site was one of
first ones that opened in the 60s when the first tourists arrived and surprised the
foreigners who got into the world of hospitality almost unintentionally (from €30 person
approx.)

SOL Y LUNA
No acepta

SUN AND MOON
(Venta de Espi des Catalá – Playa de Migjorn): very familiar beach bar and for snacks
local dishes, have a little fish or have a paella with views of the long beach of Migjorn.
For 20 euros you can eat very well.
LA FONDA PEPE (C/ Mayor, San Fernando): It is one of the most mythical places and with more
history of Formentera. In the 1970s, it is said that Bob Dylan, Jimi
Hendrix, King Crimson and members of Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. An unassuming place
to relive the atmosphere of the time and dine on quite tasty paellas and little fish. Does not accept
reservations and sometimes the wait can be long, but who is in a hurry in a place with so much
legend? If not you can always go have a drink and be in the square that is the center
nightlife of the island where all kinds of people mix where the hippie atmosphere predominates.
